BIOGRAPHY
Ksenia Sandesco was born in a small town in Ukraine. After graduation, she entered the Kharkiv Academy of Design and Arts for the specialty "Graphic Design". Despite her interest in design, Ksenia couldn't stop thinking about another direction. Having defended her bachelor's degree, she decided to continue her path in the magistracy already at the Faculty of Painting.
After completing her studies, Ksenia moved to Moscow and began working in a workshop on her own artistic language. In 2022, he is a member of the art residence NII SREDA.
In her works, the artist studies the connection between figurative and abstract art. The central themes of her work are reflections on the way of life, the sensual and psychological image of a person, transformation and aging, symbols and the subconscious. Ksenia was greatly influenced by Art Nouveau painting, as well as Impressionists.
The main characters of her paintings are mostly women, since through the heroines the girl conveys her own inner feelings and experiences.
Ksenia refuses a realistic interpretation of the surrounding world, and creates her own, which reproduces through abstract spots, tricky interweaving of fabrics, various combinations of color and texture. Prescribed female bodies and, on the contrary, an exaggerated decorative background create a conflict and force us to reflect on the connection between the internal states of a person and the external environment.
Since 2020, Ksenia Sandesco has been actively participating in exhibitions in Moscow. In 2021, her first solo exhibition was held at the Winery. Ksenia's paintings are in private collections in Russia, the USA, England, South Korea, etc. Now the artist lives and works in Moscow.
